About CALL

How does CALL work?
CALL has
one central office based in Lincoln with support staff, volunteers and mobile
advocates who cover Lincolnshire. Volunteers can either act in a supportive role
to the organisation or be trained to become advocates. There is the opportunity
to work either long or short-term.
What are the
aims of CALL?
1) To provide help
and support to vulnerable people who cannot easily represent themselves. Some
people are prevented from being heard and are indeed overlooked or brushed aside
due to a wide range of circumstances.
2) To represent vulnerable people
and help them to break down the barriers that prevent them from leading full and
satisfying lives.
How are these aims achieved?
1) By training and supporting volunteers to become advocates.
2) By matching advocates and advocacy partners on a mainly one-to-one basis.
3) By promoting and supporting group advocacy, self advocacy, and other forms
of advocacy.
4) Through fund-raising and donations which keep it all
going.
5) Through active support by the community and specialist advisors.
