The History Of Call
1987 - A group of parents who had children with learning disabilities came together to form ‘Advocacy in Lincoln’.
1988 - On July 4th 1988 ‘Lincoln Citizen Advocacy’ was launched. Partnerships formed in this year continue today.
1989 - Charitable status was granted to the Lincoln Scheme.
1991 - The charity went county-wide and the name was changed to reflect this to ‘Citizen Advocacy Lincolnshire Link’.
1994 - A grant from Social Services enabled CALL to develop advocacy services.
1995 - Lincolnshire County Council Social Services Department awarded CALL financial support.
1996/01 - Various grants were awarded from: The Big Lottery Fund, Lloyds TSB, Comic Relief and Nationwide in order to pilot various advocacy schemes across the county
2002 - Reduced funding meant that the Grantham, Louth and Boston offices had to be closed.
2004 - Linkage Community Trust provided funding for a dedicated part-time project worker for their homes and colleges, ongoing today.
2005 - Lincolnshire County Council Social Services Directorate awarded CALL a contract to provide an independent advocacy service for users of LSSD services - our main contract today.
2007 - Contract extended by Social Services for one year.
2008 - Social Services contract extended again for another year.
2009 - IS90001 Quality Assurance

British Safety Council membership and recognised as Level 1 Training Centre
Update of website & a new forum site created
2010/13 - Implementation and transition of the Advocacy and Involvement Service for LCC/NHS
Welcome staff to be TUPE’d

Fully Develop the Training Satellite and offer NVQ ‘s Level 3/ British Safety Council Level 1 in H&S to the wider community
