CALL Advocacy in Lincolnshire has a contract with Lincolnshire Social Services Directorate (LSSD) to:
- To provide an independent advocacy service for users of LSSD services throughout the county of Lincolnshire
- To empower people who use LSSD services and protect their rights as citizens
- To support service users to speak up for themselves or have their views put across for them when necessary
- The key objective of the service is to enable service users and carers to receive the best possible service in accordance with the lifestyle and wishes of each individual.
Using a combination of paid and volunteer advocates, CALL:
- Provides issue advocacy to address short term or urgent issues
- Offers citizen advocacy in the form of longer-term commitment to an individual
- In partnership with LSSD and other groups, supports the development of peer advocacy amongst people who use or have used social care services
- Facilitates service user group and meetings where necessary
- Promotes self-advocacy, enabling service users as far as possible to put across their own views
CALL Advocacy in Lincolnshire provide this service for all adults who receive a LSSD service, are being assessed for a LSSD service, have cause to complain to LSSD about a service they receive or are caring for someone who uses a LSSD service.
